New to working with leather and decided to take the plunge and buy the SK4 and I’m so happy I did! WOW, it was very quick to set up and learning how to operate it was very easy thanks to the great service from the Techsew team! Wonderful customer service and support!

I absolutely love my new the Sk-4 Skiver! It was a breeze to setup after unboxing. This is my first time owning one, no more hand skiving for me! It did not disappoint on its performance! The shipping was very prompt, arrived on a very stormy day, the truck driver was very kind and helped to bring it from the road to the house.

I have hand skived for years and have been waiting to purchase this machine. I set it up and it worked great right away. It only took me a short amount of time to practice on some scrap leather to figure out how to pass leather through. I was able to skive the leather for a weekend bag within a few hours. After this I messed around with the adjustments and had to rely on a few videos to get it back to where it would skive properly but this is good to do so you understand how everything works. My only suggestion would be that they should label all the knobs informing you of what they do.

Years ago I asked myself, "what piece of large equipment do I need for my studio to move to the next level of craftsmanship?" I bought a used industrial sewing machine.... I know now, without a doubt, it should've been a bell skiver. This SK-4 bell skiver was THE BEST purchase. Techsew came through in every respect. Delivery was prompt, even to my rural mountain town. The machine was a breeze to unpack, assemble and start to use within a few hour. The SK-4 is sound, high quality and will not disappoint!!

I have not had a chance to create a item yet. I have be sampling skins of different ounces and it works well. A great addition.

Skiving 6 oz leather manually can take many hours but the SK4 makes it into a quick, easy job. Adjustments are easy to do and sharpening was fairly simple (if a little intimidating at first). I have a deep respect for the sharpness of that blade! In combination with my Techsew 2750 Pro, I'm able to create the leather projects I want, in half the time it used to take.

Love my Techsew Sk-4! Set up was simple and easy. Just hooked the machine up to the table and it was already dialed in. I was hesitant to move towards getting a bell Skiver, but I’m glad I did. It has made life as a leather crafter so much easier. If you’re on the fence about this, stop thinking and pick one up, you’ll be glad you did!

You're not going to get it right away, but once you use it a bit, you'll have a general sense of the setup you need for different kinds of leathers and weights. From there you can make the minor adjustments to get it exactly where you want it.

This skiving machine is an incredible addition to my hobby work room. Skiving leather is a breeze now. It saves so much time and frustration, especially with larger projects. I'm still learning how to use the machine, but it is working perfectly.
I looked at other options but came to the conclusion that buying from a respected Canadian source with it's support, was in my best interest in the long run.
It arrived within a week and was very easy to set up, as seen in Techsew's videos. Some more included information on the accessories would be nice. I expect it will be an extremely useful machine for many years to come.

Great product

The machine does everything it advertises. As a beginner leather worker, it took time and practice to learn and understand all its different functions and adjustments.

I bought this skiving machine for fine leather skiving. The packaging was excellent, sturdy, and well wrapped up, nothing loose. It's fairly easy to use and works like a dream. I am still trying out different leathers and widths. It will take some time to master the narrower pieces, but it works as described.

Skiving was always the part of the job that I hated doing. With the hand tools it was always a gamble if it would turn out alright or if you were going to ruin the piece. Since I got my SK4 i look forward to skiving my project pieces. Its always consistent and easy. My projects are better than ever.

This machine is so easy to operate and such a time saver. It has completly changed the quality of my work for the better.

Was nervous spending this much without trying anything. But I can't recommend either machine or Techsew more. Both worked perfectly out of the box and were easy to set up. Techsew was very easy to deal with and very polite, Thx Ron and team

Ron was great at answering all my questions before ordering. Both machines arrived well packed and the videos were helpful with setup(although I could do without the repetitious music in the background). There were a couple of small items that didn't get packed when they were sent but Ron was very responsive and shipped out replacements immediately. The 4800 and the SK-4 have been game changers with my workflow and new techniques available to me now having the new machines. Both machines purr right along with no issues and I am still learning the subtleties of set up and best operating procedures but so far everything has been smooth. The only negative so far is that a couple of the bobbins fit so loosely on the thread winder that they don't catch and take up the thread. Perhaps that is operator error but it is only a couple that exhibit that and the rest have been fine. I'm looking forward to all the new projects I will be able to tackle now with these new machines. Highly recommended!

After tears of yearning for a skiver to help with my hobby level leatherworking. I decided to finally bite the bullet and go with the Techsew Sk-4. I did minths of research and spoke to my leatherworker friends from all around the world. Everyone has their preferences, but at the end of the day all the machines are quite similar.

The deciding factor for me, ultimately, was Techsew's service. I've owned a 2750 pro for the past 4 years. Anytime I had any issues with the machine (usually seld inflicted issues by myself) Techsew's engineers were always very quick to come to my aid and get my machine up and running again.

This amazing support was extremely reassuring for me as I decided to buy a complex piece of machinery that requires very fine tuning and spins a sharp blade at several hundred RPM.

In the end, I've owned the Sk4 for a year now and I'm very glad to have gone with Techsew.

Ron at Techsew was very helpful and answered all my questions. Delivery was fast, the skiver was well packed on a pallet and safely arrived. Assembly was an easy process, once assemble I switched it on and test ran a couple of skives on chrome tan scape, the SK4 did a great job. So far, no problems and the SK4 works flawlessly.

The SK-4 Leather Skiving Machine has totally transformed the quality and speed of my bag production. I watched dozens of bell skiver videos on YouTube and read through pages of leatherworking forums before deciding to invest in one, and I have to admit I was a little intimidated. I kept seeing "they're dangerous" or "they're hard to use". But this machine was set up perfectly upon delivery, easy to adjust, and as safe as a rotating razor-sharp blade can possibly be ;) I'm extremely pleased with the speed control, which allows me to skive curved edges with ease. I skive mostly 4-6oz veg tan or veg re-tan of medium temper. I've run some stiff 8oz veg tan through it just to try and it handled that well with a height adjustment on the presser foot. I also have a Techsew 2750 Pro sewing machine, which is fantastic and a big reason I stuck with Techsew for this bell skiver. Very glad I did!

If you work with leather you have to get this machine. My hands were sore from skiving by hand but after getting this machine, I have really upped my game. The Techsew sk4 skived a beautiful edge on my leather making sewing seams a breeze. I would highly recommended this piece of equipment!
