The laser line, the easily installed flat top, the ability to go one stitch at a time - needle always stops in the leather make my 4800 Pro package ideal for my work. I'm able to do really difficult seam work even though I'm a novice at leather craft. I'll get to the high speed stitching soon enough.

Absolutely love my Techsew 4800 sewing machine. The cylinder arm is perfect for what I make, and the flatbed attachment is a huge bonus. It gives me the flexibility I need, and it’s exactly what I was looking for.

I had never used a sewing machine until I purchaesd the Techsew 4800 pro. After doing a great deal of research with many different brands, I had it narrowed down to a couple. After speaking to Ron on the phone I decided on the 4800.
The assembly was simple, and I had it up and running. I fund it intimidating because as i said, I never ran one before. I did a LOT of practicing on scrap, then finally did some projects. I'm just finished projects #6 & #7 a coule purses for neices (see photos). No they are not perfect, but they look pretty good.
I did try an experiment & ran a full 1/2" of veg tan lether, this machine punched right through& sewed just fine. I am VERYpleased with this machine, and highly recommend it.

I got to enjoy learning my 4800 yesterday on the first real project I needed it for. I also have a Juki 1541 and now I wish I had just bought the Techsew to start with. Comparing the two, the Techsew has so many more little niceties than the Juki, plus it is SMOOTH, quiet, and still tough as nails. I like that it has at least somewhat of a readable manual. The oil spots are marked in red. There are labels on the machine and the table that are helpful. The table itself is thicker than the Juki table. The machine came to me already threaded - (thank you for that!!) so I figured that out quicker. Im just happy with most all of it. If youre wanting one to sew bags, it will serve you much better than a flatbed only. This is the best of both. It just makes projects a joy to sew instead of a struggle (most of the time). I just love it.

Ive had my 4800 for about 2 months now and have been learning a lot! I am in love with this machine

The Techsew 4800 has been a dream to use from day one. Before I even bought it, Ron answered all my questions and asked what material and thread I planned on using. The machine arrived with perfect tension for the Tex69 thread which was a bonus. As a beginner the only small con is making sure the needle is fully inserted. I love this machine and service afterwards is top notch. I highly recommend this machine.

As a new to sewing machines guy, I am Thankful I went with a Techsew. Couple years Ago I bought an old used machine (not aTechsew) to expand my leatherwork. It was a good machine, but the company was no longer around, so zero support. I didn't get far with it and it wasn't the right machine for me anyway, so I sold it.
Still wanting a machine I kept looking for a used one. This just lead me to be be frustrated with wondering if I was going to end up with another machine that didn't work for me.
After seeing so many reviews and comments on forums about Techsew having great customer support and the stories about them helping out well beyond the initial purchase, I decided that was the best way to get moving forward.
Once I contacted Techsew, I knew I made the right choice, talking to and actual Canadian that knew what they were talking about, they made sure I had picked the right machine for what I was using it for, got some accessories that I am glad I have, and set up the machine specifically for me.
It was the most comfortable large purchase I've made.
Now that I've had it awhile, I know I made the right choice.
The 4800 Pro I have is amazing, it works as I hoped, all without messing around with it. Knowing that if I have an issue I can call them and talk with a person that will happily help me makes a big difference, not many companies will continue to help you after purchasing like they will. An absolutely incredible machine. I do mostly veg tanned leather of varying weights but also work with thinner chrome tanned leathers. This machine does everything I will ever need it to do. The setup videos and instructions were very easy to follow and the customer service is top notch. They will answer any questions you have and walk you through. I recommend this machine for both hobbyists and professionals.

I really like my 4800 Pro. I have been sewing with it about 10 months. No problems. Has sewn flawlessly with 69, 92, 138, 207, and 277 threads. Any problems have been me asleep at the wheel. As projects went along I worked out what tension adjustments I needed to change thread sizes. I change thread sizes often and can do it really fast since I know how much I need to turn the tension to go from one size to another. Test an tweak if I need to and off sewing again. I can change from cylinder arm to flat bed in a couple of minutes. Automatic needle position system is a game changer. I love the tap the top of the pedal for one stitch and tap the bottom to raise the needle. That needle is always down when you stop so you can turn corners or lift the foot or whatever you need to do and not lose your position. Really improved my sewing. The manual and videos are excellent.
Why the 4800 over the 2750 for me? I wanted that 277 thread option for lined belts and other things I want to sew in a groove and still have that thread pop. I like automatic oiling. The dual thread tension is one reason for the easy thread size changes. In my opinion the extra money for the 4800 is worth every penny for the range of extra options. My other flatbed more and more sits idle because I don't want to give up the improvements.
There is a learning curve to get comfortable but I can say I have no complaints with this machine and if I could only have one for what I sew it would be the 4800 pro.

This is an amazing machine. Tension is always perfect no matter how many layers of leather I’m working with. The machine is simple yet powerful and has been extremely dependable. I have had it for a year and really love everything about it.

Purchased the 4800pro, owned for over six months and no regrets. No doubt, customer support is TechSews priority. Theyre known for their outstanding support, emails or phone calls your concerns or questions will be answered by a friendly staff member.
The 4800 is a superior machine, its my first experience with an industrial or better yet any sewing machine. Im impressed with the build quality, you can immediately tell by how quiet the machine runs- can only be achieved by close tolerances on rotating parts. The balancing, low to little vibrations.. its powerful when needed (leathers, canvas, vinyls) and can drop down to less aggressiveness. not recommended for garments / quilting. Ive had a couple incidents but I was able to make those corrections by viewing the YouTube videos TechSew has posted.
Now, what I'm not impressed with is the table, I believe the table is a generic model sold by other suppliers- at the sitting position ur seated way to far left with ur left leg/knee up against the table upright support and ur left foot positioned in an uncomfortable position from the horizontal table leg support-very awkward. in short i repositioned the table top itself to the support stand- I don't recommend this- it took some modifications to balance the weight but it's a much more comfortable sitting position- this does not compromise the machine in any way it's still positioned exactly on the same bolt pattern- the other dislike is the foot pedal, which had to be move to the right and I found it to be to soft or sensitive - meaning it was very delicate to control- my fix was to test various springs tensions, I needed a little more resistance to feel more like a cars gas pedal -
Overall an absolute joy to operate-
Highly recommend the 4800- (the laser is a novelty) you will not be disappointed- call Ron!

For the entirety of my working life (50 years), I have worked in fabrication shops and specifically for the past 37 years as a professional gem cutter and goldsmith. I am familiar with technical machinery. I purchased the Techsew 4800 PRO as an instrument to create a unique product. The machine would need the capacity to sew considerable thickness materials with accuracy. I am so pleased with the quality of my 4800 PRO. WOW, what a machine. With little time using the machine, the quality of my work was impressive. The machine is easy to operate and built like a tank! The quality of this instrument far exceeds my expectations and what a joy to create with it.
